Rob Scott
President
Rob Scott joined Birdon in November 2021 to lead business strategy, future direction, performance and growth in the United States. Prior to that he held a variety of executive management and operational roles with Bechtel Group Inc. In his last role with Bechtel, Rob helped set up and lead Bechtel’s Operational Technology Cybersecurity Business Unit. In addition, during 2020 he also led Bechtel’s COVID-19 Crisis Response Team answering a national call for help in planning and responding to the pandemic through Alternate Care Facilities.
Prior to joining Bechtel in 2011, Rob had a distinguished 21-year career in the United States Marine Corps. Rob graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science, from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. He is also a certified Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute and served as a Commandant of the Marine Corps Fellow (Executive Fellowship) at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). Rob has also received numerous honors and awards, including the Legion of Merit and Bronze Star medals. Rob volunteers to help transitioning veterans find apprenticeships in the construction field and as an Executive Board Member for Give an Hour®, a nonprofit focused on providing free and confidential mental health care to those who serve, our veterans, and their families.
Rob currently lives in Houston, TX with his wife Gabriela and together they have four children.
Glenn Triggs
Director, Enterprise Support Services
Glenn leads the Enterprise Support Services team at Birdon. As Director of Enterprise Support Services, Glenn is responsible for providing leadership and strategic guidance to Birdon’s finance, legal, technology, compliance, people & culture, and strategic supply chain teams in support of the delivery for our US programs. In addition to Glenn’s ESS responsibilities, he provides leadership and management support to the Bridge Erection Boats and the Motor-Life Boat 47’ Programs. Prior to joining Birdon, Glenn had a 35-year career in banking and finance holding various leadership and executive management positions.
Dallas Vincent
Financial Controller
Dallas joined Birdon America in 2022 as their financial controller. In this role, he’s responsible for leading the accounting/finance team and the development of Birdon’s financial systems, processes, and reporting to match the organization’s growing scale. Dallas brings broad financial and commercial experience from director roles in the engineering consulting and fire protection construction industries. Dallas was also previously a director in KPMG’s merger/acquisition consulting practice, leading teams through fast-paced projects focused on financial, tax, and commercial diligence. Dallas resides in Denver and calls the surrounding mountains his home.
Becky Goldy
Vice President, People and Culture
Becky Goldy is an HR Leader with over 32 years of progressive experience in all areas of HR and in very diverse businesses. One of her prominent talents is turning around the perception of HR and building trust and transparency within the organization. She fosters an environment where the HR department is a truly valued resource and creates listening-based partnerships that build trusting relationships with both internal and external customers and vendors. Becky’s passion has always been helping people and allowing them to see their potential. Becky gets energy from connecting with people, understanding their perspective and allowing them to develop and find their potential.
Brandon Smith
Vice President, Technology
As the VP of Technology, Brandon is responsible for overseeing Birdon’s Information Technology department spanning Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Support and ERP disciplines. Brandon is a seasoned IT Director with 15 years' experience building high-performing teams across aerospace, healthcare and commercial sales. Prior to joining Birdon in October 2023, Brandon led IT for several major companies, where he facilitated rapid growth in multi-site environments and implementation of cutting-edge cloud technologies. In his free time, he mentors local entrepreneurs and educational institutions on emerging technologies to help empower the next generation of IT professionals.
Patrick Kinser
MLB Program Manager
Patrick Kinser joined Birdon in January 2023 and serves as the Program Manager for the 47’ Motor LifeBoat Service Life Extension Project. Prior to that he held a variety of cross-functional project and program management roles supporting the Army, Navy, and Marine Corps. No stranger to international assignments, Patrick spent four years in the Middle East and Southeast Asia as an infantry officer in the Marine Corps where he received numerous honors and awards, including the Bronze Star medal. Patrick holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University, a Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law, and a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute. During and after law school, Patrick worked at the U.S. Department of Labor and the Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission where he proudly supported and upheld the rights of skilled laborers and Veterans. Patrick currently travels between Birdon’s MLB production facilities in Bellingham, WA and Portland, CT.
Jim Ducker
BEB/NAMJet Program Manager
Jim Ducker is the Program Manager for the Bridge Erection Boat and NAMJet Birdon America where he is responsible for the Denver Operations and Business Development opportunities. Jim joined Birdon in 2012 and he has served in many executive roles while leading the company through its explosive growth over the past ten years. Under Jim’s leadership the company has established itself as one of the most capable marine oriented small businesses in the United States, allowing it to compete against much larger businesses as a prime contractor for defense and commercial contracts. Prior to joining Birdon, Jim was Chief Operating Officer for Swiftships Shipbuilders in Morgan City LA where he led a company financial and operational reorganization that resulted in the successful delivery of delivering on a US Navy FMS program for 35M Fast Patrol Boats for the Iraqi Navy. Jim is a Colorado native and attended The University of Colorado at Denver majoring in accounting. He has three children and currently resides in Aurora with his wife Tracy.
Ron Rábago
Alabama Shipyard, General Manager
Rear Admiral Ron Rábago (USCG-Ret is Birdon’s Alabama Shipyard General Manager. Prior to joining Birdon, Ron served in the U.S. Coast Guard for over 36 years before retiring as a Rear Admiral (O-8) and included commanding the Coast Guard’s only shipyard. After his service, Ron spent over 5 years in the private sector enabling small and large companies to do business with the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, and the Department of Defense. He worked closely with Bollinger Shipyards (Mississippi), formally “Halter Marine,” to design and build the USCG Polar Security Cutter. RADM Rábago’s has extensive experience in the areas of Engineering, Acquisition and Logistics and an impressive record of nationwide leadership and change management.
Spencer Johnson
Ship Design Director
Spencer Johnson joined Birdon following an extensive career in shipbuilding, Naval Architecture and Engineering. As Ship Design Director, Spencer will lead Birdon’s Engineering and Integrated Product Teams to successfully deliver 27 vessels to the U.S. Coast Guard for the Waterways Commerce Cutter (WCC) contract. His extensive leadership and engineering experience will help Birdon grow its ship design team of structural engineers, naval architects, and designers charged with building some of the nation’s most important ships. Spencer has over 30 years of experience as a Naval Architect; 10 of which he spent as Austal USA’s Chief Naval Architect. He has extensive engineering management experience on both Navy and commercial shipbuilding projects and has successfully managed several design and build projects from concept through post-delivery support.
Paul Rogers
General Manager, C5I
Paul Rogers is the General Manager for C5I at Birdon, focusing specifically on implementing a C5I solution for the WCC Program. He has over 35 years of experience in commercial and military nuclear reactor/marine propulsion system operations and industrial automation applications engineering. Prior to joining Birdon, Paul Rogers worked at Northrup Grumman for 20 years as their Systems Engineering Manager and Consulting Engineer. While there, he held senior engineering management roles for a number of projects all while demonstrating leadership and technical management expertise in directing complex engineering design, modeling/simulation teams, manufacturing and test programs. Paul also served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy’s submarine forces at Electric Boat Shipyard in Groton, CT, qualifying as Chief Engineer for any Naval nuclear power plant. Paul currently lives in New Orleans with his wife Jane and together they have 2 children.
Sandra Armstrong
Commercial and Communications Manager
As Commercial Manager, Sandra leads the Ship Repair business development, operations, sales, and Contracts at Birdon’s Alabama Shipyard. Sandra joined the Birdon team in March 2024 and has over 20 years of experience across a diverse range of sectors in the shipbuilding industry. At Metal Shark, Sandra served as Vice President of Shipyard Operations where she was responsible for day-to-day operations and overall business successes. Prior to that, she served as Vice President of Supply Chain, where she led the purchase of materials and equipment, shipping, receiving, and contract compliance across three sites for over 130 projects. She specialized in forecast spending and worked closely with Ownership and the CFO. Sandra is an advocate for women in leadership roles and spends time mentoring young professional women by serving in several Women Leader’s advocacy groups. She enjoys public speaking, working in her flower garden, traveling, and spending time with her husband, three grown children and grandchildren.
Calvin Erkhart
WCC Production Manager
Calvin Erkhart joined Birdon in February 2024 as Production Director. Calvin has over 36 years of experience in the shipbuilding industry, with 31 of those years in supervisory or management roles. His previous work at companies such as Bollinger Mississippi Shipyard and Halter Marine includes extensive experience in a wide range of fields such as personnel, quality, safety, scheduling, planning, material controls, engineering, customer service, program management, financials, and more. Throughout his career, Calvin has contributed to various government and commercial projects and utilizes his skills and experiences to continuously improve product and process quality. Calvin lives in Lucedale, Mississippi and in his free time enjoys hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
